Lotto 6/45 in South Korea

The first Lotto 6/45 draw took place on 7 December 2002; since then it has been drawn every Saturday – more than 1,200 draws. Players pick 6 numbers from 45; a bonus number is then drawn that only counts for 2nd prize. One game costs 1,000 won. Because so many people play, almost every draw has several 1st-prize winners who share the pool.

Fixed and shared prizes

Tiers 1 to 3 (6 matches; 5 + bonus; 5 matches) share a fixed portion of sales. 4 matches pay a fixed 50,000 won and 3 matches 5,000 won. The odds of 1st prize are 1 in 8,145,060.

Tax and minimum age

Under the Lottery and Lottery Fund Act, tickets may not be sold to anyone under 19. Winnings up to 2 million won are tax-free; above that 22% is withheld, and 33% on the part above 300 million won (local tax included).

Why statistics?

With well over a thousand draws since 2002, Korea Lotto 6/45 is one of the longest continuous 6-from-45 records available. Our pages show frequencies, gaps, pairs and the full archive in English – all purely retrospective, since every draw is independent.
